Tips on how to keep your office tidy between cleanings

By admin Jan29,2023

The frequency with which cleaners are required to clean the facility comes down to the type of business and traffic they experience. For example, businesses in the retail and hospitality industries often require daily cleanings to maintain a polished image, attract customers, and encourage return business. Office cleaning does not have the same intensity, which is why many of our clients prefer that our professional cleaning be done weekly or biweekly.

It is well known that a clean and tidy office environment will increase hygiene, improve company morale and customer relations. This in turn leads to an increase in productivity. That’s why we’ve put together a list of practical tips for keeping your office clean and tidy between visits from your professional cleaners:

one.tidy desks: Keeping a tidy desk helps in work performance and productivity. It also allows the desktop to be deep cleaned. Use items that will keep things organized, such as desk drawers for storage, desk organizers, pencil holders, in and out baskets.

2.Wet wipes: Have wet wipes or disinfectant wipes and a paper towel within easy reach to clean up any accidents, spills, or coffee marks that you may leave during the course of the day.

3.Food Storage/Disposal: Food is often a source of odors inside the office. This can be reduced by making use of suitable storage facilities such as a drawer or the kitchen fridge. Dispose of food in bins located in the kitchen or outside the office area instead of at your desk.

Four.hang items: Throwing clothes on chairs or desks makes the office look messy and unkempt. Use cabinets or, if you don’t have them, use hooks or coat racks.

5.Cabinets: Once any work is complete, archive any documents/folders that are no longer needed. Try to keep the output tray clear as well. Not only does it make your desk look tidy, it creates order and allows you to feel in control.

6.Cups of coffee: Most people enjoy a cup while working, some can’t work without one. If you fit into this category, use coasters to avoid coffee rings on your desk, and return the mugs to the kitchen and wipe them down. Don’t leave dirty cups on your desk.

7.pick up trash: Garbage lying on the floor makes the office look messy and even chaotic. A few suggestions, keep the bin close, avoid going for the long rim shot – it’s amazing how many of us make bad shots and then are too lazy to pick up after ourselves. Be sure to remove the staples over the container instead of letting them fall to the floor and embed themselves in the carpet. Empty the container when it is full, do not allow it to overflow.

8.Air Freshener/Incense: A smelly office is unpleasant for staff and visiting customers. Fight these odors with air fresheners or incense as some of my clients usually use.

9.Avoid office clutter: The order applies not only to the desktop, look at the entire office space. Discard any unwanted items that may be on the shelves or on the floor. Folders and boxes lying on the floor for months on end are common. If they are not needed, move them to where they belong. This helps prevent tripping hazards, allows cleaners to better clean carpets, and makes your office look presentable.

10Start again: Before starting your day, take a few minutes to declutter your desk and office. You’ll appreciate it the next day and if the cleaners need to come that night they will too.

Follow these simple tips, make it a routine, and your office will remain sanitary and tidy all week, not just following professional cleaners. Remember, a clean office promotes a healthy work environment, improves job performance, and supports better customer relationships.
