Having to live a fast-paced city life, people do not have time for family or friends. All the time is spent working and pursuing goals. Most of us tend to think about how much we are missing by spending time with our families and we believe that during Christmas we will get it back. But by then our priorities change and we tend to leave our family behind to attend to our urgent priorities in life.
There’s no question that this is the order of the day, you can still make the most of the situation and still make time for friends and family by having frequent get-togethers and pot-based lunches.
1. Help you stay in touch with your family
When you don’t have time to spare to spend time with each of your family members, it is a good idea to have a family reunion so that you have a chance to spend time with everyone and stay in touch.
2. Great way to meet new members of your family
You may have attended your cousin’s wedding, but never had time to meet your spouse. The family reunion will give you that time to get to know the new members of your family and get to know them better.
3. Help keep communication open and avoid problems
Often when you don’t have time to spend with family members, you find that interpersonal relationships become strained due to lack of communication. By having frequent family gatherings, you will be able to maintain communication and interactions, which will avoid problems in relationships.
4. Platform suitable for children
You certainly want your children to meet your family, including grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. It is not possible for them to spend their vacations visiting all their relatives. Instead, family reunions provide a great platform for children to mingle with family members and bond.
5. Know what is happening in the lives of others and provide support.
Often, you find that your close relative is facing crisis in life and needs emotional or moral support, but because you have been too busy you have not been able to keep in touch with the person or know that they need it. When you have regular family lunches, you find out what is going on in each member’s life, in which case you can anticipate problems and be able to support the person in case of need.
