Is competition necessary for the growth of an individual or an organization?

By admin Jul15,2023

Today we live in the world of competition. Everyone feels stress due to competition in education, sports, business, etc. Competition simply means that one person succeeds only if others fail.

Some people think that without competition one becomes lazy and loses motivation, which ultimately leads to failure. So competition not only builds character, but also produces excellence. It can motivate us to work harder and do better to achieve success, so we feel happy when we win the competition. But at the same time we also become selfish and egocentric to maintain that success. In the long run, competition distracts us from our ultimate goals in life.

Competition generates anxiety in children that interferes with their concentration. When children’s main focus is the reward, they become less interested in what they are doing. In order to achieve the rewards, sometimes the child follows the wrong means like cheating. So it’s like a catalyst for the moral decline of any individual.

Children feel better if classrooms and playgrounds are based on cooperation. By doing so, they can share their talents and resources. Cooperation helps them win relationships in terms of having good friends. For the growth of any organization, cooperation is an important factor. Most of the work in an organization is done in teams. If all workers share their knowledge, skills, and talents in the joint effort, the organization will be successful. Success is the ability to turn your dreams and ambitions into reality. It can only be achieved if there is a healthy finish.

There is tough competition nowadays in every field. But there is a flip side to every corner, so along with the pros, there are also some cons attached. Sometimes people feel completely broken due to failure and don’t take it in the right spirit. They lose their confidence forever. Also, excessive pressure from parents to win can cause stress. Also, children begin to use the wrong means.

Simply put, competition is necessary as a motivator to do something. Competition is a self-centered path to success. We can be successful in the long term only if we are part of the success of others, and not obstacles. It develops the sporting spirit and induces in us a spirit of fight and victory. In addition to this, we learn to focus on our goal, accept challenges, digest disappointments. That’s why you want to be right from childhood.
