Online parties with a twist

We know that once you have a room full of guests at your online party, getting them to play is the easy part. While searching for answers to his game, a guest gets a chance to see some products he just can’t do without, which turns into sales!

We also know from experience that attracting visitors to the party in the first place is like pulling a tooth. We have given some ideas to boost your party and actually being able to talk to your future customers in a chat room is the best. However, for those who will never see you in the chat room, here’s a way to increase some party-like sales without having to hold an actual party.

After you build your lead list (and if you don’t have one, stop here and do it FIRST. YOUR lead list is your most valuable asset in business!), play with them via email. Announce a Monday or even a Friday (and you can test which days get the best responses) to start an email contest. Focus on a specific type of products like you would at your party and set up some type of questions that can be emailed to you. Be sure to cover some good points about your products informally (you know your subscribers want to get to the contest part of this, so don’t overload them with ads!). You can set this up any way you really want, as long as it’s something interactive you can do with them.

At the end of the week, send another email with the responses (this could include some who didn’t participate before, or maybe you were stumped and never received an entry). Please re-provide the details of the products the answers were related to and also make sure to announce the winner. You may even be able to give a special incentive to purchase the products you featured in the contest, as many of your subscribers have been eyeing these products all week; a special might give them an extra boost to buy.

You can do variations on this, such as having weekly featured products, and instead of giving away prizes every week, have a monthly giveaway where the winners of the weekly contests enter. As long as you’re doing more than just “weekly sales,” you’ll stand out from the crowd and increase your sales.
