Stress Toward Peace: Learn To Let Go!

By admin Aug14,2021

Stress hurts. If it doesn’t hurt us directly, it affects our spouse, partner, children, or coworkers. But by taking responsibility, we can begin to heal ourselves and those around us. The first step in taking responsibility is seeing what causes the most stress and then letting go. Today, that culprit is multitasking: trying to do many things at once. Only by releasing the need to multitask will you find peace.

It’s not easy – people today pride themselves on their ability to multitask! They boast of having so many irons on fire, juggling lots of balls in the air, multitasking simmering. However, these are often the people with the most stress.

Stress in and of itself is not bad. It can challenge us, get our blood pumping. The stress of running a marathon is sometimes called “tall runners,” and athletes expect the sheer joy of pushing mind and body to the limit. But negative stress can rule our lives and ruin them, if we allow it. This type of stress is characterized by an uncomfortable state of mind and a reaction or response of the mind and body to a challenging situation.
Stress and its modern companions, depression and insomnia, can lead to a cascade of unpleasant and even lethal symptoms: toxins, loss of memory and creativity, negative thoughts / attitudes, illnesses such as high blood pressure, cancer and related illnesses. immune system. … and finally, to unhappiness, a disturbed mind and life, a state of life without peace.

These factors are different for each person. What is stressful for you may be pleasant for your neighbor. Stress occurs when you are doing more (or trying) than you think you can. “The unnatural work of the path of another is done in fear, therefore it produces too much stress.” (Gita 3.35)

Different personalities feel different levels of stress from the same situation.

Stress is not set in stone. It is caused by our perception and how well we handle the tasks assigned to us. You can change your perception, reprogram your mind to release stress you don’t need, and take positive action on stress that might otherwise overwhelm you.

How? Drop everything except one task.

One task at a time, the way humans operated for thousands of years. Just drop all but one of the balls and see what happens – it will release the stress that makes you weak, sick, and scared.

Even the concept of multitasking is completely new to our generation, a computing term invented when the ability of personal computers to multitask was very impressive. Suddenly, everyone started trying to multitask, to achieve multiple goals at the same time. This is impossible for humans, who can only work well by concentrating on a single task.

Our brains weren’t made to spin wildly from one task to another. Despite the growth of Help Wanted ads calling for multitasking, the Huffington Post reports that, “If you think you’re good at multitasking, you’re probably fooling yourself.”

Where does modern stress come from?

Today’s stress is not about hunting and gathering and keeping our families alive through the winter. This deadly new type of stress has emerged alongside the concept of multitasking. In a controversial Harvard Business Review article, business leader Peter Bregman notes that multitasking causes up to 40% lost productivity, along with increased stress.

Describes his disastrous attempt to listen in on a conference call while sending an email. First, you forgot the email attachment. Then you sent an attachment, but it was not the correct one. Finally, I needed a third email to explain the problem, with the correct attachment. At that point, he realized that he had not heard a word from the conference call he was supposedly participating in. “The more you multitask, the worse it is,” says Bregman.

Forget multitasking – become more human instead. Focus on unity. Take one thing at a time.

Remember this message: by releasing stress you don’t want, you can turn the STRESS in your life into PEACE in your life.

Stress is necessary in your life … but negative stress can stop P
Times can be tough … adversity is part of life E
Relaxation exercises, yoga and pranayam (breathing) … balances each chakra A
The day itself offers new gifts and challenges … so never panic C
Serious times and sacred times … treat them all ONE by ONE. me

Bregman decided to try a week without multitasking, focusing on one thing at a time. Your biggest surprise? “Was delicious”. His senses were finally free to explore the world around him without fear of being interrupted. “Don’t laugh, but actually, for the first time in a long time, I noticed the beauty of the leaves swaying in the wind.” In other words, he found himself in a state of peace, completely free of stress.

Instead of multitasking, practice releasing with the triple A approach: Awareness, Analysis, and finally Action, through these steps:

1. Commit to a stress-free lifestyle and take full responsibility, without “blame games.”
2. Enjoy the company of calm and positive people.
3. Educate yourself
4. Positive thinking and attitude
5. Develop hobbies, help others
6. Healthy lifestyle (balanced, food / diet)
7. Daily spiritual practices: Yoga, Breathing exercises, Relaxation, Meditation, Prayers …
8. Do your best and surrender, let it go (Have confidence / faith in yourself and the Supreme)

Lord Krishna said: “Surrender all action to Me with your mind completely focused on Me, without selfishness and without anticipation of any reward, without claims of property, attachment and without mental stress, do your duty and fight the battle without any hesitation.” (Gita 3.30)
