The first tip I’m going to share with you may go against conventional wisdom, but it has worked wonders for me. I wake up at the same time every morning no matter what time I go to bed. Sometimes I sleep 8 hours doing this. Other nights when I’m busier I only have 6 hours. However, I notice that I am less tired throughout the day if I don’t try to catch up on lost sleep.

Tip #2-

The next tip is to make sure you don’t eat or drink large amounts before bed. We all know that we shouldn’t drink caffeine before bed. But most people are surprised to find out that they are not supposed to eat right before bed. Eating before bed can keep you awake if you have heartburn. In fact, you may feel good going to sleep, but your body is upset because it has to digest food and it will keep you awake because of it.

Tip #3-

The last tip can be a bit difficult for most people, but I attribute it to my greatest success. I find that the days that I exercise are the days that I can fall asleep the easiest. In fact, I often have trouble watching the evening news because I’m so tired and want to go to sleep. If you are going to exercise, make sure you do it at least 4 hours before your normal bedtime or it will actually keep you awake.
