When giving an audio interview, how much is scripted?

By admin Jul4,2023

When I’m giving my audio interviews, how much is actually written? Well, when I’m giving an audio interview myself, that means someone else is asking the questions and I’m giving the audio interview. Their questions are most likely written down because they have them all in front of them, ready to ask me. But, we didn’t write a script together.

My answers are not written down, but I have bullet points in front of me of what I am going to say. I don’t write everything, but I do give myself some guidelines and ideas of what to say to stay on topic. While I’m giving a live teleseminar, I don’t want to lose my train of thought, and it’s pretty hard to focus for three hours on this. It’s very easy to do, but I don’t want to mess it up, especially when it’s live. There is no way to fix it if it is live. Bullet points help me keep my thoughts together and make sure I don’t get things wrong. They keep me up to date and focus on what I’m talking about, without looking like I scripted the interview.

So, I’ve prepared myself and I have bullet points, key points that I can see. I am not reading a script that is completely written in front of me. I’m just looking at bullet points and ideas so I can keep up without going too far off topic. So in my own audio interviews, very little is actually written.
